Sean Singletary played for UVA from 2004 – 2008. He is the only player in the ACC to accumulate 2000 points, 5000 assists, 400 rebounds, and 200 steals. He is currently number 30 on the all-time ACC leading scorer list. He is one of three UVA players to make the all ACC team 3x in his career. He is one of seven UVA players to have his number retired and one of two UVA players to have his jersey retired. Sean played in the NBA and professionally overseas for a few years before retiring due to injury and now coaching at LaSalle College.
Singletary was selected to the 2007–08 All-ACC team, making him, Bryant Stith, and Ralph Sampson the only three Cavaliers to be named all-conference three times in their careers. Singletary's number 44 was retired by the University of Virginia at halftime of a game against Clemson on February 15, 2009.
